TES® - Transforaminal Endoscopic Surgery

"Endoscopic techniques may speed recovery, minimize postoperative pain and improve the final outcome. What once required 3 to 6 months to recover from now only requires 3 to 6 weeks!"
                                                     The Cleveland Clinic Foundation

TES® - the term summarises what TESSYS® users can achieve with this method. It stands for transforaminal endoscopic surgery, whilst at the same time refering to the terms ETN, PTED and MED, which are used again and again in connection with TES®.

minimally invasive = endoscopic?

Special attention should be given to the fact that minimally invasive does not automatically mean endoscopic or transforaminal. Today there are already several treatment approaches on the minimally invasive level, in addition to others which focus on the endoscopic or transforaminal procedure.

These approaches are summarised under the term MISS (minimally invasive spinal surgery) which is a generic term for “the conduction of classic, conventional surgeries through minimized accesses with the smallest possible tissue damage”.

However unlike these methods, the TES® method uses the transforaminal access through the intervertebral foramen under endoscopic view to the intervertebral disc herniation at a size of just 7.5 mm – a unique solution!
